"MYSTERY"

Mystery (aka "Missy"), was one of the 'wow' kids at the 2007 ADGA Spotlight Sale in Ft. Collins, Colorado!

I kept looking at her in her pen, with those long flowing ears, her elegant Nubian face, and overall correctness, dairy character and angulation.  I was certain there would be no chance of owning a beauty like this without saving for several years.  Oh well, I was happy to just look at her and research the outstanding family members in her pedigree and her herd at Goldthwait Nubians in Colorado!

Unfortunately (for the consignors), and very fortunately for me, the sale seemed a bit 'lower than average' and there were animals going for what seemed to be ridiculously low prices.  I still wasn't assuming anything, as Mystery was definitely one of the the top three animals there in my opinion.

When she came in, it was slow bidding, and finally I took the plunge and raised my hand.  Eventually, I was the lucky bidder and we had our gorgeous Goldthwaite doeling.  Now, how to get her home.  Another fortunate event, ADGA Judge L. Acton was going right through Ontario on her way home - she would be happy to deliver her for us.  All was set... and the rest, is now history, and Missy has grown into a HUGE (yes, HUGE) dry yearling, and we are anxiously awaiting her first freshening in 2009!

"RUSTY MERVIN"

Rusty Mervin is one of Lady's 2008  triplet bucklings.

He has been retained as a herdsire at Elmhaven!

He is long, tall, dairy, and has an incredible Nubian head and ears on him!

His dam, Lady, made it very easy to justify keeping him as we respect 'milk' and she is definitely a doe who knows

what it means to milk -- and best of all, it's out of a gorgeous, well attached, easy-milking udder.
